Here’s an activity to help keep the children busy this summer – Betty Etiquette’s free printable minibeast mask download for kids.

Six weeks is a long time… full of ice cream covered faces, bike rides, grass stains and hot car journeys. We’ve created a little crafty activity to help keep them busy and active this summer. With a butterfly, stag beetle, bumble bee and ladybird template to cut out and colour in there are lots of beautiful bugs to go round.

This free download is the first of the Paper Project series, a monthly craft DIY project, hand drawn by Rebecca, Creative Director of Betty Etiquette.

Add the product to your cart and head to the checkout - no need to add payment details as the download is free!

Minibeast mask instructions:

Print the minibeast PDF on white card or paper. Each child can pick a minibeast to be and carefully use scissors to cut around the outline. If you have printed on card the mask will be strong enough on its own but for paper you can cut a paper plate in half and stick the mask drawing to it or use the back of a cereal packet.

Now it’s over to your little Picasso to colour in, sticker and glitter their minibeast up. You can add elastic or ribbon by cutting a small hole in each side where the dot is. Measure out the rough size of your little artists head and cut the ribbon or elastic to size before attaching. To reinforce the hole, wrap a little clear cello-tape over the area before you make a cut for the ties.

The minibeast masks are also a great crafty activity for children’s parties. Make it an ugly bug ball with these great DIY bug cakes from BBC GoodFood magazine and these bug party ideas.

The template is available to download as a free item from our shop - check it out.
