06 October 2020 - Online Introduction to Brush Lettering Workshop
7:30pm - 9pm BST - Tue 06 Oct 2020
Online - via Zoom
Join me Rebecca, author and Creative Director of Betty Etiquette, to try your hand at Brush Lettering in a fun, interactive workshop from the comfort of your own home. Book with friends, or come and meet some new faces!
Using my experience teaching workshops across the country in venues including the V&A and Liberty, I'll help you discover your own lettering style, learning how to use brush pens to create beautiful modern calligraphy.
We'll begin by learning the basic lettering strokes before moving onto mastering a brush lettering alphabet. We'll look at two different lettering styles using fine and thick brush pens then begin to develop your own lettering style.
With my encouragement and feedback throughout, you'll end the session creating a piece of wall art using your new skills.
How it works
The workshop will take place via Zoom which you can access on your phone, tablet or laptop.
Workshop numbers are limited to make sure I can give time to each member of the group. To help with this, please book a ticket for each person taking part, even if you'll be in the same room.
I'll email a link 3-5 days before the workshop. If you're booking multiple tickets I'll be in touch with the lead booker to get other participants' contact details.
Book the 'Workshop & Kit' ticket and everything you need to take part will arrive by post in time for the workshop. Your kit will include a black Tombow ABT pen, a black hard tip Tombow Fudenosuke pen, 12 sheets of practise paper, two sheets of card, guidelines and printed worksheets.
If you alread have a heaving craft cupboard, or want to buy materials yourself, you'll need the following (with links to suppliers):
- Black Tombow ABT Dual Brush pen
- Black hard tip Tombow Fudenosuke pen
