19 October 2020 - Online Watercolour Lettering Workshop

7:30pm - 9pm BST - Mon 19 Oct 2020
Online - via Zoom

In this beginners workshop we look at how to use a water brush and roundhead paintbrush to create beautiful modern calligraphy inspired lettering. We work through materials, setting up your workspace, brush techniques and creating flowing letterforms.

You'll learn to mix and blend colours within your lettering and once you have got to grips with the basics we will create a piece of wall art with your new skills.

How it works

The workshop will take place via Zoom which you can access on your phone, tablet or laptop.

Workshop numbers are limited to make sure I can give time to each member of the group. To help with this, please book a ticket for each person taking part, even if you'll be in the same room.

I'll email a link 3-5 days before the workshop. If you're booking multiple tickets I'll be in touch with the lead booker to get other participants' contact details.

Book the 'Workshop & Kit' ticket and everything you need to take part will arrive by post in time for the workshop. This kit will include a 12-pan watercolour set, size 2 round ProArte Brush, waterbrush, watercolour paper, practice sheets, guidelines and printed worksheets.

If you alread have a heaving craft cupboard, or want to buy materials yourself, you'll need the following (with links to suppliers):

  • A range of watercolours in tubes or a pan set
  • A small (size 2 or 3) round head paintbrush
  • 5 sheets of hot pressed watercolour paper or thick card
  • 10 sheets of Cartridge, mixed media paper or a sketchbook for practice and mark-making
  • A waterbrush
  • Printed guidelines & worksheets (emailed to you in advance)

Please read our workshop terms & conditions before booking.
